Q & A

Q: I am about to deploy VoWLAN. Do I have enough capacity?

A: This is a common concern, not only for VoWLAN, but for imaging and other intensive applications. Different types of applications running of WLAN can be problematic. This is one reason we layer traffic on Horizon. By assigning different types of applications to different layers, each application can run unimpeded and provide the user performance that your clients expect.

WLAN Installation and Support

Horizon Layered WLAN is an innovative, next generation Wi-Fi topology that provides network performance that is 2-3x that of a traditional, discrete Wi-Fi network. Customers can manage traffic in a new and novel way to optimize by devices and applications or by 802.11 protocol over six Wi-Fi channels – For more information see Horizon – Capacity.

In order to take full advantage of this improvement, InnerWireless offers a broad array of WLAN professional services, from installation to application setup to future readiness. These are:

  • WLAN Coordination: When a 3rd party VAR installs the Wi-Fi infrastructure, InnerWireless coordinates with the VAR on key engineering requirements.
  • WLAN Design and Implementation Best when mission- and life-critical applications are used. InnerWireless designs and installs both Horizon and the Wi-Fi infrastructure. One vendor, one turn-key project.
  • WLAN Location Design and Implementation: One of the hottest new Wi-Fi applications, InnerWireless can deploy and support the AeroScout Unified Asset Visibility solution in conjunction with Horizon to required location specifications.
  • WLAN Assessment: Both a long-term and a short-term engagement consisting of:
    • WLAN Stability Assessment: Ensure WLAN stability with respect to agreed upon specifications.
    • WLAN Performance Assessment: Assess capability and availability. Network scans and audits of wireless network to ensure optimum performance.
    • WLAN Future Readiness Assessment: Wireless network readiness to support nre features, such as Security, VoWLAN, etc.

Working in conjunction, we can better optimize the WLAN today, when add new applications or devices and even when you move to new technologies, such as 802.11n.
