Q & A

Q: Does this include Cisco’s newest Aironet 1250 Series, n-enabled Access Points?

A: Yes. Horizon is compliant with 802.11n and supports MIMO, narrowband at 2.4 GHz and narrowband/wideband at 5GHz per Cisco and the Wi-Fi Alliance recommendations.

Q: Does InnerWireless support VoWLAN?

A: Yes. Horizon supports the coverage, signal strengths and capacity required for VoWLAN. In fact with layered WLAN, voice traffic can be assigned to a single channel for optimum performance.

Testimonials

“InnerWireless deployed both Horizon and Cisco infrastructure for us in our Wi-Fi only DAS deployment. The coverage and capacity performance made our Vocera deployment flawless.”

— Katherine Esarey, Director of IT, Ranken Jordan

InnerWireless, A Cisco Premier Certified Partner

InnerWireless is part of Cisco’s Solutions Incentive Program (SIP) and is a Cisco Premier Certified Partner, specializing in wireless LAN technology. With these designations, InnerWireless offers, deploys, and supports both Horizon and Cisco LWAPP-compliant LWAN wireless infrastructure. Targeted at the North American healthcare, this value added end-to-end solution ensures optimized, Wi-Fi performance over a distributed antenna solution.

Horizon offers a unique Wi-Fi topology that is tailored to mission- and life-critical applications. Using Horizon and access points and infrastructure from Cisco Systems, multiple simultaneous channels of 802.11b/g/n and multiple simultaneous channels of 802.11a/n are made available throughout every area of Wi-Fi coverage.

Unlike a traditional Wi-Fi deployment with one channel of 802.11b/g/n and one channel of 802.11a/n in an area, there are three channels of 802.11b/g/n and three channels of 802.11a/n. Multiple channels, or layers, means that customers can manage traffic in a new and novel way-optimizing the quality of service (QoS) of our numerous computing and VoWLAN devices by assigning different devices and applications to different channels. In this way, the devices don’t compete for a single shared wireless resource. This capability yields the following benefits:

  • End-to-End in-building Wi-Fi solution
  • 2-3x improvement in network performance over conventional Wi-Fi installations
  • Separation of enterprise data from public Internet access, and enables deployment of multiple VoWLAN devices from different vendors.

Deploying Wi-Fi on a DAS InnerWireless is the only in-building wireless provider to offer an end-to-end wireless solution with Cisco. A key component to creating mission- and life-critical wireless is InnerWireless’ professional services:

  • " InnerWireless guarantees signal-level coverage, with a distributed antenna system that yields dependable user perception for data, voice (VoWLAN) and location services (RTLS).
  • InnerWireless provides network evaluation, engineering, sourcing, provisioning, staging and deployment of LWAPP-compliant Cisco WLAN.
  • InnerWireless optimizes WLAN traffic by protocol and application-type to maximize application capacity.
  • InnerWireless provides frontline support on all Horizon deployments with Cisco WLAN equipment, including SMARTnet.
