Q & A

Q: Are all wireless frequencies designed the same way?

A: No, in fact lower frequencies, such as 450 MHz have much different propagation properties than higher frequencies, such as 5 GHz.  As a result, InnerWireless engineers and then provides predications and testing for every frequency provided by Horizon4G.

Professional Services - Horizon4G Deployment

The InnerWireless deployment process is built on InnerWireless’ decade-long experience in deploying in-building wireless systems.  Backed by a track record of 100% first-time acceptance, our approach provides the highest quality design, installation and operations of any in-building system on the market today.  The deployment process is managed through six critical phases:

Phase 1 – Scope

During the scope phase, the InnerWireless team meets with the key customer stakeholders (IT, facilities, telecom, etc.) to insure that all wireless and building requirements are known, including coverage areas, services desired by floor, aesthetics concerns, building changes, required capacity, etc.

Phase 2 – Site Survey

The InnerWireless team performs a detailed site survey from a mechanical and construction viewpoint and maps out the RF characteristics of the building.  Key areas include:

  • Telecom Room and Closets
  • Risers
  • Individual Floors
  • Interior Walls
  • Roof

Phase 3 – System Design

InnerWireless utilizes best-in-class design standards, tools, and processes to insure all customers’ requirements are met.  InnerWireless also works with wireless service providers, and device and application manufacturers to insure that all of their design criteria are met in the InnerWireless design process.  Key design documents are delivered, including cabling plans and signal coverage predictions.

Phase 4 – Procurement and Logistics

After design acceptance by the customer, the InnerWireless project manager schedules the delivery of the InnerWireless Horizon4G infrastructure. InnerWireless also works with all parties to create clearly defined roles and responsibilities to ensure a coordinated deployment.

Phase 5 – Installation

Prior to installation, the InnerWireless team trains and certifies any local 3rd party installation crews on proven InnerWireless installation methods and subsystem testing procedures. During the installation phase, an InnerWireless project manager is on site during all required times to assist the installers with any questions or clarification regarding the installation/subsystem testing procedures and to insure a quality installation.

Phase 6 – Acceptance Testing

The installation phase concludes with completion of the system level functional customer acceptance test plan. The InnerWireless team performs a full sequence of tests to ensure integrity of Horizon4G.
